At SILC’s family-governed disability homes, we believe every person deserves to live in a home where they feel safe, valued, and empowered. This is more than just accommodation – it’s a vibrant, collaborative living environment where residents and families take the lead.

Our Story

SILC was established in September, 2016, as a hub to support families to develop their own independent housing models under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Our mission is to create great, sustainable homes and life experiences for people living with disability, by connecting families and communities.

The Founder Story

SILC helps people with disability find homes that fit their needs, offering personalised guidance and clarity throughout the housing and SDA process. We focus on dignity, comfort and independence at every step, ensuring each person feels supported and confident in their journey.

At SILC, we collaborate with families, providers and communities to create housing that genuinely supports the people who live in it. Our approach is grounded in clear communication, partnership and doing what is right for each participant. Together, we help bring new SDA homes to life and build communities where every person feels safe, supported and connected.

Family Involvement

You and or your family will be involved in governing the home. You choose where you live, who you live with and who you employ.

Bespoke

We work with you and your family to design your desired home life.We know that better outcomes are achieved by tailoring accommodation to meet the unique needs of each person.

Community

We leverage off our cooperative community to build an intentional community of informal support and connections for our families and members. Our residents are valued members of our cooperative community.

Grow Together

We want to build the capacity of our residents to achieve a good life. We share information and learnings with our cooperative to learn and grow together.

Financial Sustainability

We operate to benefit our residents and members. We work with you to fully understand how your NDIS funding is spent, so that you can stretch your funding further.
